1.  General

Your order will initially be treated as an offer to buy the items you selected, and will only be accepted once we have confirmed that the items are still available and that payment has been received.   Due to the fact that most of works we sell are limited in quantity, there may be occasions where an item is already sold but still appears available in the web site.  If you order an item that has already been sold, your order will still be processed and your credit/debit card debited, but you will be credited the money back as soon as possible.  

 

We reserve the right to refuse to supply goods.  We also reserve the right to change or update the information, specifications, prices, and descriptions of products listed in our web site at anytime.  We endeavour to ensure that the information given on our web site at any one time is accurate.  However, we cannot guarantee that the content will be error-free but we will correct all errors and omissions as soon as we are made aware of them. 

 

We do not accept any liability for any losses or claims arising from any inability to access the web site and any failure to complete a transaction.  Nor do we accept liability for any indirect or consequential loss of any kind arising out of the use of the web site or for any products purchased from us.

2.  Price

All prices shown in our website are in UK Pounds Sterling (GBP). We are entitled to make adjustments to the price to take account of any taxes or duties.  In the event that an error or omission occurs in the advertised price, we will inform you of the correct price and give you the opportunity to cancel the order. All prices shown on our website exclude postage and packaging charges, and these will be added to the goods total when you check out in our on-line shop.

 

3.  Methods of Payment

We currently accept the following credit/debit cards: VISA, MasterCard, Delta, and Switch.  Payment will be debited from your account before the dispatch of your purchase.  We will take all reasonable care, in so far as it is within our power to do so, to keep the details of your order and payment secure, but in the absence of negligence on our part we cannot be held liable for any loss you may suffer if a third party procures unauthorised access to any data you provide when accessing or ordering from our site.

 

You can also make payments by a Sterling cheque or Postal Orders.  Please email us first if you choose to  make your payment this way.

 

All goods remain the property of Chinese-arts.co.uk until paid for in full and received by the customer.

Tax charges
We are not VAT registered and therefore do not charge VAT on any goods we supply. 

 

4.  Cancellation of order

You may cancel your order prior to the works being dispatched to you.  However, we reserve the right to charge 4.5% of the value of your order to cover the administration costs and transaction charges incurred by credit card companies.  If your order fail to arrive within 30 days of you placing your order and we have not agreed a later delivery time with you, you will be refunded in full.

5.  Delivery of goods

Delivery of your order will be made by a reputable carrier.  Goods in stock will normally be despatched within 3 working days of cleared payment.  Whilst every effort will be made to deliver your order within the period specified, we cannot be held responsible for any delay in delivery, however caused.  

 

For paintings, the postage and packaging costs per shipment are listed below.

Heavy items will attract additional costs.  You will be advised of the actual shipping costs before you place your order.

 

6. Approval period and Returns Policy

All items you purchase from chinese-arts.co.uk come with a 14-day Approval Period, which starts the day after you accept delivery of your order.  If, for any reason, you are not entirely happy with any of the items you purchase, just return them to us for a full refund.   However, you will be responsible for the cost of the return delivery.  Please send us an email to obtain a return number first before returning the goods to us; or else we will not be able to accept your returns.  The goods must be returned in its original condition, securely packed in the original packaging, and within 7 days of receiving them.  We will notify you via email of the refund once we have received and processed the items returned to us.

7.  Damaged and Incorrect Items

Prior to signing for, and accepting delivery of, your order, please take a few moments to inspect the packaging. If the packaging is damaged you should open it immediately, in the presence of the carrier representative, before signing for it.  Inspect the contents and check if they are damaged.  If so, you should either refuse to accept delivery or get a signed statement from the courier representative stating that the contents were damaged in transit. In both cases, please contact us within 3 working days so that we can follow it up with the carrier company.

 

If you find that the incorrect item has been dispatched, please contact us within 3 working days and we will either arrange for the item to be replaced, or for you to receive a full refund.

 

Your statutory rights
None of the state conditions affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Protecting your personal information and privacy

Your details will be stored on a computer according to the terms of the Data Protection Act 1984.

We never send unsolicited e-mails to anybody. We do, however, send you e-mails in order to confirm your order details, and also when we ship your goods so that you know that they are on their way.  No third party is ever informed of your e-mail address or any of your personal information.
 

Use of Cookies

Our site requires the use of cookies to function. These cookies merely hold your user ID and your name, and are used to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart.  No other information is stored on your browser.
